About Norman Hanson

Norman Lived a full life from his younger years where he would tread the boards of theatres and help backstage on many productions. He then took up ballroom and Latin dancing and was qualified to teach which he did for many years at The Lakean Ballroom in Briggate, Shipley with his friends Tommy Kean and Tommy's first wife Edna Lake. http://archive.wharfedaleobserver.co.uk/2000/11/10/147500.html

Later in life Norman ran his own dance classes in Allerton, Bradford and his final dance lessons took place at the Wilsden Village Hall.

Norman Loved dancing and loved to watch Come Dancing and Strictly Come Dancing, and give his views on the dances performed.

The last few years of Normans life he became more or less house-bound and would make a weekly trip to the supermarket and the occasional visit to his family and friends.

Long suffering from Heart desease, asthma, diabetes and Gout, to name but a few of his ailments, he was taken into Bradford Royal Infirmary on 20th October 2008, where the Doctors said that his heart desease was the cause of his swollen legs, which was the reason he went into hospital. 2 weeks later on the 4th November Norman passed away peacefully, leaving behind his only living sibling Betty Murphy.

Norman will be, and is, sadly missed each and every day. Rest In Peace Norman.
